As I sit here in my humvee and watch all of my soldiers doing their duties, it makes me think. Countless military veterans are sitting under a bridge in the freezing cold. No blankets, no pillows, no food, etc. How can our government let this happen? Why are the men who put their life on the line for our way of life kicked to the curb and forgot about? These men and women are well qualified for most of the middle class jobs if not higher paying ones, yet after their service they are forgot about. It makes me sick! If it wasn’t for our military our nation wouldnt be what it is today and this is how we thank them for their service? Kicking them to the streets stripped of their pride? It makes me think. If the government can do this to the men and women who fight for this great nation, how do they really feel about our civilians? Are their words meaningless in order to get a vote? This great nation is getting so far from what our founding fathers established it scares me. Our jobs are sent over seas. Our rich get richer while the poor struggle. The greed of this country is taking over and we need to fix this. (sorry off topic a bit). Back to the soldiers. As if it isn’t enough to fight over seas, then they come home and have to fight the streets. This is wrong. We need to make steps to fix this. Our veterans should be welcomed with open arms and support, not fire barrels and ripped up clothes. Their is a lot to fix in this country, so lets give a hand!
